The contest is now going on in the Most Holy Place

Follow the Lamb by Faith

Written in Heaven · The 144,000 · The Seventh-day Sabbath · The Wedding Above

Since October 22, 1844, Christ has been ministering in the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary. The call now is to follow Him there by faith, to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, to receive the seal of God in the seventh-day Sabbath, and to claim the promises of God for perfection of character.

This page is built to do one thing plainly: call souls to the present contest, show the old paths, put the 1843 and 1850 charts before the people, and help support the republishing of pioneer books, sermons, charts, tracts, and articles to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.

The Contest Now Going On in the Most Holy Place

Not a dead doctrine. Not a past date. A present work now going forward in heaven.

The Wedding Above

Christ calls His people to follow Him by faith into the Most Holy Place. There the wedding work goes forward. There the names are retained or blotted out. There the question is decided who shall stand with the Lamb and who shall be found written in heaven.

Search the old paths. Follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth.

Go There by Faith

The call is not to stay in the outer court of dead profession. The call is to follow Christ by faith into the Most Holy Place, where He ministers in the heavenly sanctuary.

Receive the Seal of God

The sealing Sabbath from sundown Friday to sundown Saturday is the great test. Those who love Christ keep His commandments and stand against the mark of the beast.

Claim the Promises for Victory

The contest is not won in the strength of the flesh. It is won by abiding in Christ, claiming the promises of God, and obtaining perfection of character through living faith.

This is the issue of the hour: not whether men admire the truth, but whether they will follow Christ by faith, keep the seventh-day Sabbath, receive the seal of God, and be found among the 144,000.

The Church of the Firstborn

Not written on earthly rolls, but written in heaven in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Hebrews 12:23–24

“To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant...”

— Hebrews 12:23–24 (KJV)

Written in Heaven

The great matter is not membership in an earthly 501(c)(3) non-profit IRS controlled organization, but whether YOUR name is retained in the Lamb's Book of Life in Heaven above.

Made Perfect

Hebrews does not point to an excuse-making religion. It points to a people made perfect through the blood of Christ who died and was raised by his Father and God (Rev. 20:17) back to life, by claiming the exceedingly great and precious promises of God, His mediation on our behalf, and His covenant with His people.

The Final Registry

The Lamb knows His own. The names that remain written in heaven are the names that will stand when the books are opened.

"Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

— Luke 10:20 (KJV)

"And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."

— Revelation 21:27 (KJV)

"And whosoever was NOT found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."

— Revelation 20:15 (KJV)

Is Your Name Written in Heaven?

This is the question of the hour. Not what men call you. Not what 501(c)(3) IRS controlled corporation received you. But whether YOUR name is retained in the Lamb's Book of Life in Heaven above.

The issue is simple and terrible. The mark of the beast (666) brings eternal ruin. Those who obey the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus mark and seal of God for the people who by faith stand with the Lamb of God in the Most Holy Place in Heaven above as His own peculiar treasure.

"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

— Revelation 3:5 (KJV)

The Seal of God vs. The Mark of the Beast

Two masters. Two signs. Two destinies.

Who Is the Creator Named in the Sabbath Commandment?

Exodus 20 says the One who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is is the One who blessed and hallowed the Sabbath. Hebrews 1 answers the question without stammering: “Unto the Son” He saith, “Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth.”

Exodus 20:8–11

Remember the sabbath day... For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is... the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The Creator identified by His work

Hebrews 1:8–10

Unto the Son he saith... Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.

The Son named as Creator

John 1:1–3, 14

All things were made by him... and the Word was made flesh.

The Creator revealed as Christ

Sabbath Commandment Creator Identified The Son Christ the Lord of the Sabbath

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

— Exodus 20:8–11 (KJV)

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."

— Genesis 2:2–3 (KJV)

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

— John 14:15 (KJV)

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

— Revelation 14:12 (KJV)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made."

— John 1:1–3 (KJV)

"He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not."

— John 1:10 (KJV)

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

— John 1:14 (KJV)

"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

— John 17:3 (KJV)

"But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

— 1 Corinthians 8:6 (KJV)

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;"

— Hebrews 1:1–2 (KJV)

"But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."

— Hebrews 1:8 (KJV)

"And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:"

— Hebrews 1:10 (KJV)

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:"

— Colossians 1:13–16 (KJV)

"Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

— John 20:17 (KJV)

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me."

— Isaiah 43:10 (KJV)

The Great Test

The sealing Sabbath is the point of truth especially controverted. Here love to Christ and obedience to God meet in open conflict with the commandments of men.

"The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted."

— The Great Controversy, p. 605

The Creator Identified — Not Assumed. Declared.

The One who made heaven, earth, the sea, and all that in them is is not left undefined. Scripture names Him plainly: the Maker — the Husband — the God of the whole earth.

"For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called."

— Isaiah 54:5 (KJV)

Spirit of Prophecy Witness

"All things were created by the Son of God. ‘In the beginning was the Word... All things were made by Him.’ If Christ made all things, He existed before all things. The words spoken in regard to this are so decisive that no one need be left in doubt."

— The Signs of the Times, April 8, 1897

"Christ was the agent through whom God created all things. The Father wrought by His Son in the creation of all heavenly beings."

— Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 34

"The Father wrought by His Son in the creation of all heavenly beings. ‘By Him were all things created… all things were created by Him, and for Him.’"

— Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 34

The Spirit of Prophecy — Defined by Scripture

Scripture does not leave this undefined. The testimony of Jesus, the prophets, and obedience to God are inseparably connected.

"And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

— Revelation 19:10 (KJV)

"Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God."

— Revelation 22:9 (KJV)

"Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper."

— 2 Chronicles 20:20 (KJV)

"Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

— Amos 3:7 (KJV)

"I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets."

— Hosea 12:10 (KJV)

"And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone."

— Ephesians 2:20 (KJV)

"Despise not prophesyings."

— 1 Thessalonians 5:20 (KJV)

The Sabbath — A Prophetic Pattern of the Final Rest

From the beginning, God established a pattern: six periods or six days of labor followed by a rest day. Scripture reveals this was not only for creation—but a prophetic outline of time itself.

"And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it."

— Genesis 2:2–3 (KJV)

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy... For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth... and rested the seventh day."

— Exodus 20:8–11 (KJV)

"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

— 2 Peter 3:8 (KJV)

"And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

— Revelation 20:4 (KJV)

"There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his."

— Hebrews 4:9–10 (KJV)

Six Days of Labor → One Day of Rest

6000 Years of Labor (Sin = breaking the Ten Commandments 1 John 3:4) → 1000 Year Rest (Earth Rests from Sin) with Christ

Historical Witness (Pre-1830)

Early writers recognized the creation week as a prophetic outline of time— six thousand years of labor followed by a thousand years of rest, identified as the kingdom of Christ and the rest of God.

From Sabbath Rest to Jubilee — The Inheritance of the Saints

The Sabbath was not the end—it was the pattern. The Jubilee reveals the release. The Kingdom reveals the inheritance.

"And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family."

— Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives… To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

— Luke 4:18–19 (KJV)

"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

— Romans 8:17 (KJV)

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection… but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

— Revelation 20:6 (KJV)

"Jesus saith unto her… I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God."

— John 20:17 (KJV)

"And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

— Matthew 3:17 (KJV)

"Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things."

— Hebrews 1:2 (KJV)

Sabbath → Jubilee → Kingdom → Inheritance → The Sabbath was the shadow—the Jubilee is the release—the Kingdom is the possession.

Rest → Release → Return → Reign

The 144,000 — Firstfruits Unto God and to the Lamb

The inheritance does not end with release from bondage. It rises to a people sealed, purified, and joined to Christ in His kingdom. Scripture identifies the 144,000 as firstfruits—a special company belonging to God and to the Lamb.

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads."

— Revelation 14:1 (KJV)

"These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb."

— Revelation 14:4 (KJV)

"And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."

— Revelation 14:5 (KJV)

"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures."

— James 1:18 (KJV)

"And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."

— Romans 8:17 (KJV)

"Fear not, little flock [144,000 Sabbath Sealed]; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom."

— Luke 12:32 (KJV)

"Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

— Matthew 25:34 (KJV)

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."

— Revelation 21:7 (KJV)

"And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."

— Revelation 5:10 (KJV)

"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection... but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."

— Revelation 20:6 (KJV)

Firstfruits → Sealed → Faultless → Joint-Heirs → Kings and Priests

The 144,000 are not presented as a common, careless multitude, but as a sealed company with the Father’s name in their foreheads, following the Lamb, standing without guile, and entering the inheritance as a firstfruits class unto God and to the Lamb.
